Study Background

Leveraging AI to Identify Histological Markers for Improved Prognosis in ALD

Alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD) is a leading cause of morbidity, mortality, & liver transplantation in the U.S. There is a current need for better diagnostic and prognostic tools. Traditional histological assessments are prone to interobserver variability & lack granular insights for disease severity prediction. Digital pathology enables automated, high-resolution quantitative analysis of whole slide images (WSI) for deeper spatial & morphological insights. AI models identify novel markers and patterns predictive of disease progression AI-developed personalized prognostic tools outperform current methods.
