Direct Immunofluorescence Testing

Direct immunofluorescence testing utilizes specific antibodies that have been conjugated with a fluorochrome (FITC) which is useful in the diagnosis of suspected autoimmune disease, connective tissue disease and vasculitis. This testing is performed in-house in our laboratory which allows one of our fellowship-trained dermatopathologists to review both the biopsy and immunofluorescent slides.
