WT1

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) · Women's Health
WT1 is a gene involved in the induction of Wilms' tumor, a pediatric renal malignancy. Wilms' tumor 1 protein regulates transcription of other genes and can function both as a transcriptional activator and repressor. The antibody reacts with all isoforms of the full-length WT1 and also identifies WT1 lacking exon 2-encoded amino acids, frequently found in subsets of sporadic Wilms' tumors. WT1 expression has been demonstrated in the epithelial and blastemal components of Wilms' tumors and in the majority of malignant mesotheliomas as well as the majority of acute leukemias.
