BCL-6

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) · Oncology
It is rearranged in about 30% of diffuse large B-cell lymphomas, and is expressed predominantly in normal germinal centre B cells and related lymphomas (1). The antibody gives a strong nuclear labeling of BCL6 protein in follicular lymphomas, diffuse large B-cell lymphomas, Burkitt's lymphomas, and nodular, lymphocyte-predominance Hodgkin's disease. The PG-B6p antibody is useful for differentiating proliferation centres in B-CLL (BCL2+/BCL6-) from trapped germinal centres (BCL2-/BCL6+) in mantle cell lymphomas, and for identifying neoplastic cells in cases of nodular, lymphocyte-predominance Hodgkin's disease. BCL6 protein is not expressed in B-CLL, hairy cell leukemia, mantle cell and marginal-zone derived lymphomas.
